Модераторы официального форума Gearbox начали выписывать предупреждения или вовсе блокировать учетные записи пользователей за мисгендеринг нового персонажа Borderlands 3, робота по имени FL4K. Официальное заявление Gearbox относительно пола FL4K гласит:
«Местоимения FL4K — Они/Им. Вас не заставляют менять ваши убеждения и точку зрения, но мы вносим ясность и подтверждаем, что писать о данном персонаже и обращаться к нему следует именно так»
Если вдруг по каким-то причинам по вашим венам не циркулирую прогрессивные идеи западного общества, то термин «мисгендеринг»
может показаться незнакомым, но мы постараемся восполнить этот фатальный пробел знаний.
«Мисгендеринг» — это намеренное или ненамеренное употребление местоимений, не соответствующих половой идентичности индивидуума. Скажем, если вы вдруг обратились к особи неопределенного пола и женственного вида со словами «Девушка», то она может не на шутку оскорбиться, если вдруг идентифицирует себя как мужчина.
